Borobudur and Prambanan, each temple representing 2 triumph of culture that ever existed in the archipelago. Borobudur is a Buddhist temple located in Magelang – Central Java, was built in the heyday period of the Buddha in the archipelago are represented by the Srivijaya empire. Borobudur has the richest in the world for the relief of a temple, reliefs depicts a model of the universe and become a holy place for Buddhists. While Prambanan temple representing the triumph of Hindu culture in the archipelago, was built in the 9th century, it became the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia, the region covering the Sewu temple which according to legend was built in one night. In two of the temple we could see the track record of the past glory of the archipelago.
Upon your arrival at Adisucipto Yogyakarta Internasional airport our tour guide will pick up you, and after brief introduction we will take you to the hotel in the city center of Yogyakarta, after break for a while we will start our first day tour.
From hotel we will drive to Sleman to visit Prambanan temple, a biggest Hindu temples complex in Indonesia built on 9th century, there are many temple here included Sewu temple. Here we can admire Archipelagos culture by details. When we finish exploring Prambanan temple we will back to hotel for break and rest.
On 7 pm we will pick up you from hotel and we will take around Malioboro area, it is a crowded area of Yogyakarta, especially in the night, here we can visit shops who sells many accessories and other handy craft product, and off course we can find traditional street food here. Before late night we will back to hotel for rest and overnight.
In the morning we will take you from hotel and then drive to Sleman to visit Borobudur temple, remarkable construction built on the past Java Kingdom period that have much historical values. Borobudur is protected world heritage site and has a reputation as one of world seven wonders, its existence still well preserved until this day. Next we will have lunch at local restaurant.
After we admired the grandeur and beauty of Borobudur temple, we will drive a “Andong” – a traditional carriage drawn by horses, used as a means of public transportation in the traditional villages – to explore the traditional villages around Borobudur while enjoying views towards Borobudur from a distance, then we will visit Klipoh village where the inhabitants producing pottery, kitchen utensils traditionally used by the locals. After we finish Borobudur tour, we will transfer you to airport and end the tour.
